Hey guys, as you all know, we're going to have some sort of an outing during the school holidays. Still kinda in the planning phase so if you all got any suggestions, you know where the tagboard is. Alternatively, you could just text us( namely, edna, jorene, mothi or me ). Spread the word around cause I think many of the class regards the class blog as dead and mass texting might be difficult since many of you are busy preparing for the exams and such( and some people like neoh have phones but have no one who knows their numbers...) So yeah, any updates will be up on this here blog.

Nanyang Junior College Symphonic Band Presents, _______________________ (name haven't pick yet)!! Doink.

We are having our concert on 28th May, Vesak Day, at the Victoria Concert Hall, 7.30 pm.

Our oboist Lee Xueci and Hornist Muhammad Hafiz bin Saiful Imran will be performing, and WE ROCK!! Phuck Yeah!

So maybe u guys wanna have your innocent little outings before the concert or your hardcore clubbing upstream after the concert.

After everyone knows our individual posting results on 27Jan, we'll be going to our respective JCs on 28Jan. Most of our class are going into JCs. It means that school is going to start very soon, which is next week! And we're only left with 1 week of holiday from now on! So, treasure your last 1 week holiday! (: As for those who are going into Polys, spend your holiday well for the last few months before school starts. (:

Everyone has your own path to go and your own future to achieve. I believe everyone of us can do it!
May everyone work very hard for the rest of our education and achieve to what we want! YES!

Tertiary level is not easy, so we've to perform to our best!

Pulau Ubin Outing

The group of 20 met on Yishun MRT platform at about 9plus and we soon headed for Pasir Ris.

Took bus 109 and headed for Changi Jetty.

Pulau Ubin in sight...

Rented the bikes at 4dollars and started our cycling expedition.

Xian Han got hurt and it started to rain ='(

Went for our lunch in one of the shophouses. Spent 4dollars each for a stumptous meal!!

Splitted ourselves into 3 groups after that; Chek Jawa group, Slack for Lunch group and the Mountain Bike trail group.

Extremely nice experience cycling at the Ketam Mountain Bike Park, the earlier part of the journey was extremely difficult for us as the hills were steep and the traction were poor. We didnt overcome the first part by cycling, but we pushed the bike up the hills instead. The more we pushed, the more frustrated we became, adventurous spirit kicked in and we mount our bike and raced off. No matter how determined we were, we still had to pushed our bike some slopes that have an angle of elevation of about 70degrees. Really wondered how the professional mountain bikers accomplished such a feat. TeckSoon and Karthikan raced off before us( Erwin, John, WengWan, LiangWei). Lol, being safe was the top priority for the 4 of us. We skipped about 7 stages in the black diamond part by cycling on the main road. Wengwan and I carried on the trail when we reached the nearest blue square stage. It seemed to be no difference than the other hard stages..

Met together at the jetty at about 5plus and made our way back to mainland for dinner...

Just spend 13 dollars and u can enjoy the whole day there, extremely worth it!

Went to explore Old Changi Hospital after that...... creepy but the experience was nice... scary siol, karthikan's sighting of a person wearing yellow shirt and white shoes, made us stayed there for more than 2hours, the time we fixed for going back was extended by more than 1.5hours. LOL , nice still, anyone interested in going?.

Did everyone enjoyed yourself at the class chalet?? (:

First, I want to thank the following people:

1. Jorene: We must really thank her for organising class activities everytime! (: As we can see, she needed to organise her own pri sch chalet too, but she still tried her best to organise a wonderful class chalet for us. :D She also helped us to top up the remaining amount for the food. I think we all should really thank her for all the things!!! ;)

2. Sufyan: Thanks for in charge some of the things, like booking for the chalet and checking in for chalet. Did u help to check out chalet too? But I know we need Mothi bcos he's 18 yrs old. Haha! & thanks for helping us to buy our lunch on the 2nd day!

3. Mothi & ShiWei: Thank you for organising games for us, like beach games & Night Trail. But most of the people playing for beach games were boys leh. LOL! As for Night Trail, I dunno about it. Some might say fun or scary. I think it was a bit dangerous. & Sorry about it (on behalf of everyone) that we really had to leave ytd night to catch the last train and couldnt join. I know both of you put in a lot of effort to plan this night trail and wanna give us a surprise, but really sorry. For me, I think it would be fun if I had joined. But I dun mean to disappoint you two as many of us were leaving ytd night. :/

4. People who helped to bbq the food (esp WengWan & YuFen) and cooked the food for steamboat.

5. EVERYONE: Thanks for everyone for coming to the class chalet!!! (except Bilal). Aiyo Bilal why didnt you come? The class attendance was the same, 39/40, regardless the different days who came and went home. (: But I am really glad ALMOST EVERYONE came! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!! :D

6. As for myself, I was trying my best to help Jorene and the organising committee. (:

Thank you for bringing your baby photos! We didnt get the chance to play yet, but thanks for sharing it with each other! :D

I know most of you didnt sleep well on the first night and were feeling very tired. But I know you all had fun?? (: As chalet is for playing, it might not really for us to sleep. We should enjoy and play more. I hope you all dun really mind that you are feeling very tired, cos that's our class gathering after so long since our last outing. So in the future if we are still organising class chalet, I hope everyone will come for it and dun mind about the tiredness. Really. I know it'll still be a fun one! & outings too! (:

We didnt really pay for this chalet, as the money we had 'earned' came from the IClass award. So perphas everyone will of cos hv to pay for the calss chalet in future...

Most of you didnt really have a good dinner, and we're sorry about it. We can still bring our own snacks and cup noodles next time. =)

I really enjoyed the class chalet and this still made me feel part of our class!

FINAL UPDATE OF CLASS CHALET!

For food buyers, pls reminded that we are to meet at HARBOUR FRONT MRT STATION AT 3PM tmr.

For those who want to meet together in YISHUN, we're meeting at YISHUN MRT STATION PLATFORM (the LIFT there) at 2.15PM tmr.

Anyone interested to meet together, pls let me(edna) noe. Currently JinYue, Janani, Ajantha, YanTing and myself are all meeting together. And we'll meet Pamela at AMK PLATFORM at 2.30PM.

We are going to have a 'GUESS THE BABY PHOTO COMPETITION' on Steamboat night.
But for it to actually work out, i need ALL of you to bring your baby photos.

The photo must be taken when you were below 5 years old.

The photo will be filed up neatly in a hard-cover photo album and i will ensure that it does not get crooked, bent or scratched in anyway, so no worries!
Pass the baby photos to me PERSONALLY once you reached the chalet. ;)

For this game to actually work out and for all of us to have fun at it, i need ALL OF YOU, (literally ALL) to bring your uber cute baby photos!!! ;))))

The BBQ dinner on 1st night should end at around 11+.
After packing up and all that it should be around midnight already.

CLASS OUTING UPDATE

Location : Costa Sands Resort (Sentosa)
Date : 8/01/2010 to 10/01/2010
Room Type : Superior Room(1 for boys, 1 for girls)

The booking for the rooms took up a huge chunk of money (over $600) and adding the price for the BBQ stuff and the cake, we were left with about $240. We decided to use the money to buy food for the 2nd night so we wont be going for the luge and skyride.

PLEASE try to understand that we dont have that much money to get tickets for the luge and skyride. It's $11 PER PERSON and if we spent it just like that, we WONT have any food for the 2nd night.

We still need to plan out what to do during the chalet itself so if you've got any ideas, inform either me or Jorene.

It's confirmed. We are going to eatch Sherlock Holmes, since many of you requested for it. Seems like it's going to be a good movie, with a good mix of comedy and action. In case you haven't watched it, here's the trailer for Sherlock Holmes.

All tickets for everthing will be booked beforehand. We are going to book 42 tickets in the chalet and 40 tickets for Sherlock Holmes. In order not to waste money, EVERYBODY must come.

However, the 2 foreign students in our class are going back to their countries in November, thus we might not be able to catch New Moon together as it only opens in Singapore in December.

The movie is distributed by Walt Disney Pictures.

It is about how an old man who used to sacrifice friendship and stuffs like that for money changed after a magical encounter with a ghost.
It opens in Singapore cinemas on 19 November.

Genre: Comedy/Drama
Based on the 2000 non-fiction book about Mark Whitacre.
He's some famous, old and rich dude and CEO of a California biotechnology film.
Why is he famous?
You can google him and tons for information will appear.
(Am now blogging on my iPhone, cannot copy and paste, and I'm lazy type out everything.)
His story is really interesting and he really made an impact in the US, and OMG I'm a BIG fan of Ocean's 11, 12 and 13. LOLLOL.
It opens in Singapore cinemas on 19 November.

Of course, if the foreign students don't mind or if the movies in November do not appeal to you, we can have the movie outing in December!

The beauty queen was convicted of five charges of misappropriation, cheating using illegally obtained credit cards, and impersonating their users' identities.

The first-time offender was sentenced in May this year to 24 months of supervised probation, said a Subordinate Courts spokesman in response to a query from my paper.

Another 60 charges were taken into consideration for the purposes of sentencing, he said.

Court documents show that Miss Low spent a total of more than $2,400 on at least four separate occasions, using at least three different credit cards in April and May last year.

She bought two gold anklets worth almost $1,000, a $698 mobile phone, and food and drinks at a swanky restaurant.

It is not known how she obtained the credit cards. my paper understands that her previous employer, a healthcare company, made a police report about her in April last year.

It suspected that Miss Low, who worked there for five months as a patient-service assistant, had used credit cards belonging to its patients. It asked her to leave the following month.

Before leaving, she was said to have returned a part - an unspecified sum - of the total amount she had spent using the cards.

When contacted, Miss Low, now a student, said that she was 'not in a position to comment'.

The organiser of the Miss Singapore World pageant, ERM World, did not respond to queries as to whether it was aware of her criminal record during the pageant.

The international Miss World pageant will be held in Johannesburg, South Africa, in December.

It is unclear whether Miss Low will be allowed to leave the country to take part in it.

OMG 4E7 OUR PERFORMANCE WAS A SUCCESS!

after spending all the weekends' afternoons together.
after spamming all the sms among each other.

and i'm so glad that the teachers really enjoyed our performance. ((:

there are a few people that i think the class should really thank for this performance to be a success.

first up is TAY QIAN WEN!

our very beeeeeeeeeeeeloved choreographer!

she has very beautifully pieced together simple moves such that our dance looks nice, complicated and elegant!

it has been really hard on her all this while.
and she has really put in a lot of effort in this whole thing.

she even specially went to the internet to research on different moves, learn them and then teach them to the whole class.

especially for the break dancing part.
even the males found it tough.

next up is CHAN WENG WAN!

most of you might not know,
but CHAN WENG WAN was actually the one that cut, edited and extended our dance song.

on saturday morning, i went to accompany wengwan to edit the song in the school's com lab.
OMG. it was a really very difficult process.
requires very accurate timing and precision, and LOADS of patience!
the whole process is so complicated!
i only know how to use Windows Movie Maker.

he might seem very laid back and nonchalant just playing the guitar.
but he was actually the one i went to to seek advice about anything and everything related to the singing segment about the item.
how to arrange the class, where to cut the song blabla.
however, everytime whenever i ask him to lead the class, the would always always say NONO I'M VERY IRRESPONSIBLE.
HAIZ!
he was also the one that chose the song YOUR CALL, he taught me how to download 'songs' from youtube and even helped me search for the piano tutorial of YOUR CALL!
he was really passionate about YOUR CALL.

seventh up is JACKY LU!

we invaded his house for the singing rehearsal.
HAHA!
the night before the rehearsal i just suddenly called him, "JACKY! TOMORROW CAN WE GO TO YOUR HOUSE TO PRACTICE THE SINGING?" and he agreed! YAYYE!

and he gave me a lot of cruel reality about the different situations. and i was very happy that someone ACTUALLY did that cause honesty is always the best policy.
there were a lot of things that i just saw on the surface, but he managed to read between the lines and understood the meaning beneath.

he was like THE ADVISOR.

I do not know if any of you share the same interest as me in movie music. The whole POTC trilogy was composed by a composer named Hans Zimmer. I used to listen to these songs a lot last year. These three videos are my favourite songs from At World's End. The first is "Up is Down", the second is "Singapore" and the third is "One Day". Up is Down is packed with kinetic energy from start to end. Singapore starts slow with some gamelan and instruments from the chinese orchestra. The middle portion climaxes into a driven with many time signature changes. One day has the most beautiful chords at the start and somehow makes me feel very emotional when I listen to it. Enjoy

This video is for those who went to NUS UCC yesterday and missed the first item by Millenia Institue.

Yesterday, I personally watched the best dance presentation in my life. Firstly, I would like to praise our class' Chinese Dancers for the splendid performance. Eventhough I had watched your performance for quite a number of times, I thought your performance yesterday was beyond normal. Why so? I think the loud music, accompanied by the fabulous lighting design elevated the presentation to a higher level.

We were presented with many different types of dance. There was International, Malay, Chinese and Indian Dance. I think Catholic High presented a very fesh dance. Although it was full of people walking aimlessly around the stage, it addressed the current problem of the economic crisis.

The video on the top is by FuHua Sec. I loved the Malay Dance presented by Si Ling secondary school. It was a contemporary dance with a standard step throughout the dance. There was a solo where only one person was on the stage and the spotlight shone on him. He even shout.

Another dance loved by many was by Cedar Girl's secondary school. It started with the girls getting electrocuted and becoming lifeless beings, somewhat like zombies. They messed up their hair and constantly banged their heads.

Well, we hope that our presence in the hall had motivated all of you to dance with greater feel and passion. The dance was different. Eventhough there was no Avatar, Large pieces of frabic, briefcases, paper or even plastic wrapping as props, I am sure the dance impacted many in a good way.

Have fun spraining your necks. LOL
